Position: The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics invites applications for two tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Mathematics beginning August 2016.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2017. All research areas considered, with a slight preference given to applicants in applied research areas.

Responsibilities: Faculty will have an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units. Research active faculty may request to replace one course unit with their research activity. Strong commitment to excellence in teaching mathematics at all levels is essential. The successful candidate will establish a productive research program with an interest in research with undergraduate students, and show a willingness to pursue external funding opportunities.
