Nomination to PIMS Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Manitoba 

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba invites applications from outstanding young researchers in the mathematical sciences for nomination for PIMS Postdoctoral Fellowships for the year 2023-2024 (the fellowship may be taken up at any time between 1 September 2023 and 1 January 2024). This fellowship is for one year and is renewable, contingent on satisfactory progress, for at most one additional year. Successful candidates will be expected to teach two courses per academic year. The value of this fellowship at the University of Manitoba is $60,000 per year. 

Eligibility: 
 1. Ph.D. or equivalent (or expected to be awarded by 31 December 2023). 
 2. Research overlaps with the Department's existing areas of research strength (successful candidates must be nominated for the fellowship by one or more professors in the department). 

How to apply to PIMS Postdoctoral Fellowship at UofM: Application process consists of two steps. 

 Step 1: Nomination (this should be done as soon as possible but no later than 15 November 2022). Applications should be submitted online at https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/fellowship/20754 (this page if you are reading this on mathjobs.org)

Applicants should upload 
 (i) cover letter containing the name of sponsor(s), the person or people in the department whose research overlaps with the applicants research areas (applicants are strongly encouraged to contact these people to discuss common research interests) -- applications without this information will not be considered
(ii) curriculum vitae; 
(iii) research statement; 
(iv) publication list; 
(v) information about teaching experience (if any); 
(vi) applicants should also arrange for at least two reference letters to be uploaded; 
(vii) special justification statement if the time from Ph.D. is longer than 3 years.

 Step 2 (deadline: 1 December 2022) This should be done only after Step 1 is completed, and only if the applicant received a confirmation email from the PIMS-UofM Site Director that they will be nominated for this fellowship.
