The collaborative research center (SFB) "Higher Invariants - Interactions between Arithmetic Geometry and Global Analysis" at the Department of Mathematics in Regensburg (Germany) offers PhD positions in various areas of pure mathematics.

The projects involved in the SFB are the following:

  • Tropical Approaches to Arakelov Geometry (W. Gubler, K. Künnemann)
  • Geometry for T-Folds (U. Bunke)
  • Spectral Algebraic Geometry (N. Naumann)
  • K-Theory, Polylogarithms, and Regulators (G. Kings, G. Tamme)
  • Arithmetic Extension Classes Associated with Projective Structures (K. Künnemann)
  • Aspects of Bordism invariants (B. Ammann, U. Bunke, N. Naumann)
  • Simplicial Volume and Bounded Cohomology (G. Kings, C. Löh)
  • The L1-Seminorm on Homology and L2-Torsion (S. Friedl)

The positions come without teaching obligation and a decent salary (E13). We are seeking to hire candidates from early to experienced postdoc level. The start and the length of the positions are flexible. German language skills are not required.
