The main scientific themes include theories and applications of deep learning and AI:

• Deep learning paradigms and algorithms • Computer vision • Natural Language Processing • Deep reinforcement learning • Quantum machine learning • Mathematical theory of deep learning and AI, optimization theory for machine learning • Applications of deep learning, including but not limited to neuroscience, health care, transportation and smart cities, life sciences, physical sciences, business, and finance

The postdocs will work closely with faculty mentors, and will interact with groups at NYU Shanghai. The postdocs are expected to present their work in seminars and related workshops or conferences. Teaching is not required, but opportunities exist for those who are interested in teaching experience. One or two-year renewable appointments are available.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.
