Founded in 1906 by Governor Duan and Emperor Guangxu with the intention to teach Chinese language and Chinese culture to overseas Chinese, Jinan University was the first university in China to recruit foreign students, and it currently has the largest number of international students, known as “the Number One Institution of Overseas Chinese”. Department of Mathematics was established in 1927, which is currently eligible to award PhD degrees and Master’s degrees in Mathematics, and professional master degree in applied statistics, covering fundamental mathematics, computational mathematics, applied mathematics, probability & statistics, operational research and control theory, applied statistics, and management science & engineering, and also confers bachelor degree in mathematics and applied mathematics, information & computing sciences, information management and information system. After a long time of development, we have begun to hold together a high-quality and innovative teaching and research team with younger faculty as its backbone. In order to further spur the development of our department, find promising research fields and convene scholastic elites, we now invite globally the applications for academic leaders and accredited teachers in relevant disciplines. 2.Qualifications: 3. Responsibilities: In addition to teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses and public math class such as calculus & linear algebra and statistics etc. in the Department of Mathematics and related Departments in Jinan University, the faculty member is expected to supervise graduate students, to maintain a program of scholarly activity, to apply fund, to work on curriculum development, and to be involved in departmental governance. 4. Salary Range: The honorarium can be negotiated and we provide very competitive salary and appropriate housing subsistence commensurate with qualifications and experience and future contract objectives. 5. Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in People’s Republic of China. 6. Application Procedure Application must include: a resume (continuous period experiences from university on), time of birth, place of birth, nationality, marital status， an introduction of teachings & researches engaged, a catalog of publications, representative papers (less than three in number, if published publicly, please enclose the journal cover and content), at least three letters of reference, a work plan for the coming five years of teaching & research, copies of diplomas and degree certificates and one 1-inch bareheaded photo. Electronic version of applications is preferred. For all paper-works, please prepare a copy and the copy will not be returned. The Mathematics Department will select those qualified for interviews before enrollment. On reporting in, the functional departments will verify the original application materials. Enrollment will be canceled if the materials are proved to be falsified.
