Assistant Professor of Data Science

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education at The University of Tampa is seeking candidates for a tenure track position in Data Science at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2022. The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. UT reflects this vibrancy; with 24 consecutive years of enrollment growth UT boasts 260 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and more than 100 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News and World Report. Qualifications Responsibilities will include teaching three four-credit courses at the undergraduate level, primarily in data science and statistics, as well as maintaining an active research portfolio and participating in university service. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. This is an exciting time of growth at The University of Tampa, and our department is expanding in the areas of statistics, actuarial science, and data science.
