Korea Institute For Advanced Study (KIAS), Center for Mathematical Challenges (CMC)

KIAS was founded in October 1996 by the Korean government to promote excellency of research in basic sciences. The institute is located on a 30-acre site in Hongneung, Seoul, Korea, where members are provided with a research-friendly environment. As a flagship of the basic sciences in the region, KIAS provides active venue for exchange of ideas and advanced learning. In this way, the Institute ultimately aims to contribute to the making of a brighter future for mankind. Currently, the Institute has three Schools - Mathematics, Physics, and Computational sciences.
