The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton Hall University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in mathematics to start in August 2023. While all areas of mathematics will be considered, priority will be given to applicants in the field of Analysis, broadly construed, including geometric analysis, classical analysis, dynamics, partial differential equations, probability, numerical analysis and scientific computing, and applied mathematics. While teaching responsibilities will include mathematics courses at all undergraduate levels, including service courses, applicants would be expected to teach the upper-level Analysis sequence. The typical teaching load is 18 credits per academic year, with individual courses running 3-4 credits each. A successful applicant will have a strong interest in working with undergraduates and involving them in research projects. The ability to support classes in the Financial Mathematics major would be considered a plus.

A Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics is required. A completed application will include a cover letter, curriculum vita, research statement, teaching statement, and three letters of reference at least one of which addresses teaching.

Applications will be reviewed starting January 2, 2023, and will continue until the position is filled. Complete applications received before January 2, 2023 will be given full consideration. Applications may be submitted at the university website https://jobs.shu.edu/en-us/job/495448/assistant-professortenure-track. Questions about the Mathematics program may be addressed to Dr. Nathan Kahl (Nathan.Kahl@shu.edu).
