Role Summary

We deliver 4 undergraduate programmes - Applied Mathematics with Mathematics; Economics; Statistics and Information Computing Science at our Joint Institute in Guangzhou, China.

The Institute is highly successful and we are looking to appoint at Professorial level for the Deputy Dean of the Joint Institute. This role leads the Birmingham team at the Joint Institute, with the managerial and interpersonal expertise to navigate complex international education projects and relationships. As a Professor, you will provide senior academic and management leadership to the team and wider School, research leadership and bring international esteem, ideally in either financial mathematics, data science or statistics.

This is a highly collaborative role and provides an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the J-BJI Lecturing team to maintain and grow the excellent quality of teaching internationally and in the UK, along with consolidating existing business and identifying and progressing opportunities for expansion.

You will need to have excellent relationship and staff development skills and high-level experience and international reputation in mathematics, statistics or a closely related area.
