Haverford College is a leading liberal arts college located 9 miles from the center of Philadelphia. The idyllic residential campus is home to 1,435 exceptional undergraduate students who are defined by their deep intellectual curiosity, respectfully collaborative spirit, and voracious commitment to improving the world around them. A successful candidate should provide strong evidence of effective teaching and an ability to contribute to the Haverford math curriculum at multiple levels, from introductory courses through senior thesis supervision. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can teach upper level statistics classes or advise senior theses in statistics, but all areas of mathematics and statistics will be considered. The cover letter should discuss the candidate’s specific interest in developing their teaching and research programs in an undergraduate liberal arts setting in the Philadelphia area. The application should articulate how the candidate will contribute to the College’s commitment to diversity, especially through inclusive teaching practices. A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or statistics by the time of hire is required.

Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a description of research, a statement of teaching interests and experience, a diversity statement (or a discussion of inclusive practices in the teaching statement), and three confidential letters of reference, at least one of which discusses the applicant's teaching. Questions should be directed to hc-mathsearch@haverford.edu. Applications completed by March 1, 2024 will receive full consideration.
