Mathematics Department at the California State University Channel Islands invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics beginning Fall 2016. Ph.D. in Statistics or closely related field is required. Excellence in teaching and research is essential. Experience with modern software, interdisciplinary collaborations and student projects will be considered.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Statistics from or closely related field from an accredited institution, Evidence of on-going research activities. Excellence in teaching with a variety of methodologies. Experience with modern software (such as R, SAS, Python, various data bases). Interdisciplinary collaborations and student projects. Experience with and commitment to working in a multiethnic, multilingual, and multicultural environment.

As a condition of employment, this position will require a background check. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to: -broadly trained individuals who have post-doctoral experience and ability and interest in teaching a wide range of courses - candidates with expertise in statistics and data analytics - candidates with interdisciplinary interests - individuals with a record of grant and contract acquisition - candidates involving students in their work
