Applications are invited for the post of Post-Doctoral Research Associate in noncommutative ring theory, Lie theory, and related areas to work in the School of Maths. 

The post is available from 1 September 2022, or on a mutually agreed date, for a 24-month fixed term contract. The position is funded by the EPSRC grant "Enveloping Algebras of Infinite-Dimensional Lie Algebras", held by Susan Sierra, which applies techniques from ring theory, noncommutative algebraic geometry, and Poisson algebras to investigate a variety of questions related to these enveloping algebras. Candidates with expertise in infinite-dimensional Lie algebras and their representations and/or Poisson algebras or related topics are particularly encouraged to apply. 

Post-holders will be able to pursue their own research questions in addition to joining these larger efforts. The post-holder will join our thriving and growing algebra/geometry/topology group at the Hodge Institute and will be encouraged to interact broadly with the entire group.
