Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Mathematics

781 0Rose-Hulman is a small, private, mathematics, science and engineering school. It has approximately 2200 undergraduate students in engineering, science and mathematics and less than 100 masters’ students in select engineering and science disciplines, with most of its undergraduate students in the engineering disciplines. Every undergraduate student on campus is required to take at least five mathematics courses, with nearly everyone taking a course in either statistics or probability. The school continues to be very well ranked nationally among undergraduate institutions that have the majority of their degrees in technical disciplines. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 14:1. The campus is located in a semi-rural area about a mile east of Terre Haute IN, an economic region with a population of over 500,000. Most students live on campus and so the campus is pretty well self-contained.
