The University is the state’s flagship research institution. UNM research injects millions of dollars into New Mexico’s economy, funds new advancements in healthcare, and augments teaching – giving students valuable hands-on training in state-of-the art laboratories. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Mexico offers programs that lead to a M.S. or Ph.D. degree with options in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Applied Statistics.
