Department of Mathematics, Shantou University
Shantou is a city of Guangdong Province in southern China, situated on the paci fic coast and the Tropic of Cancer. It has a population over five millions and is served by an international airport, one railway and several highways. Shantou University is a relatively young university, founded in 1981 with the approval of the State Council of China. Currently it has 1,717 sta ff members, 7,621 undergraduate students of 34 majors and 1,679 graduate students in 81 research programs. With its innovative curriculum, distinctive educational features, and ground-breaking reform programs, Shantou University has been striving to become an international, modern and distinguished institution of higher education.
The Department of Mathematics has 19 faculty members and several supporting sta ff members. Our research covers many subjects in analysis, algebra and topology. We have a PhD program in pure mathematics as well as two Master programs in pure and applied mathematics. To strengthen and broaden our research, we would like to invite quali fied individuals of all nationalities to apply for positions in all fields of pure and applied mathematics.
