The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics Education at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2018. The department’s mathematics education faculty group contributes to outstanding programs at all levels: elementary and secondary teacher preparation, a nationally-recognized online masters degree for teachers, and doctoral studies in mathematics education. Our faculty have wide-ranging opportunities to design and teach exemplary undergraduate and graduate mathematics content and pedagogy courses, engage in K-16 educational research in a collaborative environment, and improve K-12 mathematics teaching and learning in Montana and beyond. These efforts are supported by consistent and substantial funding from NSF, DOE, and state agencies. We seek a talented and dynamic mathematics educator whose professional interests and vision complement this range of activity, whose research interests embrace mathematics education at the K-12 or collegiate level, and who will support teacher preparation and professional development programs in K-12 mathematics.
