Post-Doctoral Research Fellow: Mathematical and machine-learning analysis of circadian effects on cancer outcomes

This post is part of an exciting new project funded by CRUK and EPSRC that will use mathematical and machine-learning methods to study how the circadian clock affects cancer outcomes and survival. The aim of the project is to provide new prognostic tools for breast cancer and other cancers. The successful candidate is likely to have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or engineering. Experience with data analysis and/or mathematical modelling would be an advantage but is not necessary. There is an experimental arm to this project and the candidate will be expected to interact with the experimental team which is in the Warwick Medical School.

The post is for 36 months, starting on 1 July 2020 at the latest and preferably before that. Your working environment will be in the Zeeman Institute (SBIDER) https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/zeeman_institute/ and you will be a member of the Mathematics Institute.

If you wish to discuss the post prior to application, please contact Prof. David Rand, D.A.Rand@warwick.ac.uk

Applications via the HR website should include a CV, a list of publications, and links to a small selection of reprints/preprints or part of your PhD thesis as appropriate. All applicants should also ensure that their three referees send their references by email to Alison Glendinning, Departmental Secretary, Mathematics Institute, University of Warwick at MathematicsPA@warwick.ac.uk by the closing date.

Closing date: 22 March 2020.
