WARWICK ZEEMAN LECTURER (107783-0823)

Location: University of Warwick Campus, Coventry Department: Mathematics Position Type; Full Time, Fixed Term Duration: Fixed term until 31 August 2027 Salary: £45,585 - £54,395 per annum

About the Role The Warwick Mathematics Institute invites applications for the post of Warwick Zeeman Lecturer (WZL), to start in September 2024. We have two positions available, open to all areas of mathematics.

WZLs are temporary appointments for a fixed term of three years. They offer the opportunity to join an excellent mathematics department, and to gain the experience in teaching and administration that will strengthen any future application for a permanent academic position.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment, and we actively encourage applications from groups that are under-represented in UK mathematics. In particular, we are working hard towards improving our gender balance: we currently hold a Bronze Athena Swan award and our energetic Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion committee plays a significant role in shaping departmental policy.

About You All applicants should hold a PhD and have already demonstrated excellence in research and an ability to teach effectively.

We aim to appoint people to these two posts who can make a strong contribution to both our research and our teaching, and who will make the most of the opportunities provided by our lively and vibrant departmental culture.

For further information regarding the skills required for this role please see the personal specification section of the attached job description.

The department encourages the career advancement and promotion of all its staff. All Zeeman Lecturers have a mentor and a more formal, supportive, annual review of their progress that forms part of the University’s probationary process. We are an internationally diverse department. For those eligible, the University offers relocation and Immigration Support Scheme packages to assist with costs of relocating and any associated visa applications and HIS (health) surcharge fees.
