The Department of Mathematics at Baylor University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, starting in August 2010. In exceptional cases, an Associate Professor appointment may be considered. Salary and benefits are competitive. Excellence in teaching and research is essential. Strong potential for obtaining extramural funding is desirable. Special consideration will be given to applicants with research interests in areas of applied mathematics, in particular, numerical linear algebra, applied partial differential equations, control theory, computational mathematics, and optimization theory although exceptional scholars in any area of specialization are encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in the appropriate field of study.
