The Department of Mathematics seeks applicants throughout the year who are interested in obtaining postdoctoral research experience in the area of mathematics. These positions have the responsibility to conduct a program of research under the mentorship of a faculty research group within the department. A teaching load of up to 3 courses per year, as assigned by the department chair, is expected, depending upon funding source. In addition, because of grant funding, the department has particular interest in (a) Data Science, Optimization and Machine Learning (candidates for this position may have backgrounds in any area of mathematics, or related area), with collaborations, training, and mentoring developing between mathematical data scientists and industrial or governmental partners and (b) applied analysis related to integrable pdes and c)inverse problems, especially electrical impedance tomography (candidates with backgrounds in optimization and inverse problems are encouraged to apply.
