The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at California State University, Long Beach, invites applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics beginning August 2019 (Fall Semester). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Statistics with experience using Bayesian Methods in Data Science and Machine Learning. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2019. A strong research record including peer-reviewed publications in Statistics. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the college level. Ability and willingness to engage in committee work and other service activities. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population. DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful research experience at the post-doctoral level. Significant record of research publications in Statistics. Demonstrated potential for developing and maintaining an externally funded research program involving students. Experience in interdisciplinary research and in industrial applications. Successful teaching experience at the college level. Experience or interest in developing undergraduate curriculum in applied statistics and data science. Complement the existing strengths in the Statistics program.
