The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SMSS) at
Clemson University invites applications for one Tenure-Track Assistant
Professor position starting in the Fall 2023 semester. The position will be
targeted towards analysis, with preference given to someone who can bridge the
gap between harmonic analysis and numerical PDEs, and whose work has
applications in materials or health sciences.
Desirable attributes for candidates include an interdisciplinary
research orientation in the mathematical sciences; post-doctoral, industrial,
or practical experience; collaborative possibilities with faculty members in SMSS
and related disciplines; and an interest in innovative applications. Candidates
should have strong potential or demonstrated capability for effective research
and teaching in the mathematical sciences.
The school contains two divisions: Mathematics, and Statistics and Operations
Research, and includes the areas of algebra and discrete mathematics, data
science, computational mathematics, operations research, probability and
mathematical statistics, and pure and applied analysis. The school offers the
