Great Bay University is a newly established public university in line with national development strategy. It is situated at the heart of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, China. In April 2021, Dr. Gang Tian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former vice-president of Peking University, was appointed as the founding president of GBU. Growing with the vital development of the bay area, GBU is expected to have about 10,000 students and 1000 faculty members by 2030.

GBU is creating full-time programs at undergraduate and graduate levels in six disciplines: Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Advanced Engineering, Information Science and Technology, and Finance Management.

Two campuses are under construction, one is located in Songshan Lake Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and another is located in the Binhai Bay Area of Dongguan City. With approximately 400 acres of land, GBU will have abundant space for scientific research, teaching, learning, and living.
