Applications are invited for the appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics (Ref.: 515464), to commence on January 1, 2023, or as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics, or in a discipline related to Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science. Those with interdisciplinary background, especially with expertise in Optimization, Numerical Linear Algebra, Numerical Methods and computer programming are preferred. Proficiency in both English and Chinese, and enthusiasm for teaching are essential. The appointee will mainly teach some core courses and undertake some administrative duties for the brand-new Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programme. He/She is also expected to undertake some other teaching and administrative duties of the Department if needed. For appointment as Lecturer, a minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level is required. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer. Fresh Ph.D. graduates are welcome to apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary for Lecturer, or up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer.
