| Indiana University South Bend Department of Mathematical Sciences Announcement of Position to begin Fall 2009 The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department's actuarial science program. Candidates whose research area is analysis, stochastic processes, or dynamical systems are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have completed all of the requirements for a PhD in the mathematical sciences by the time of appointment. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (typically 9 credit hours per semester), research, and service. Salaries and fringe benefits are competitive. The department offers bachelor's degrees in mathematics and actuarial sciences and a masters degree in applied mathematics and computer science.
