The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate is expected to conduct fundamental research in mathematical, statistical, and/or computational aspects of data science. Outstanding candidates at all academic ranks will be considered. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields, and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required.

Opportunities for interactions across the University include: the Mathematical Institute for Data Science, the Center for Imaging Science, the Center for Language and Speech Processing, the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics, the Institute for Data Intensive Engineering and Science, the Institute for Computational Medicine, the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare, the Institute for Assured Autonomy, the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, and the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
