The Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University invites applications for Department Postdoctoral Research Associate positions with a starting date of Fall 2021. This is an academic year, benefits eligible position that is potentially renewable on an annual basis through Spring 2024 contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Candidates will be evaluated on their potential in research and teaching. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Mathematics by August 10, 2021. Applications from all areas of mathematical research will be considered. Research Associates (Postdocs) will be paired with faculty mentors with whom they have compatible research interests and will engage in our active instructional mentoring program if their appointment includes an instructional component. Applicants should submit a vita, statements on research and on teaching, and should arrange 4 letters of recommendation to be submitted, one of which must specifically address the applicant's teaching experiences. It is helpful if the cover letter indicates if the applicant wishes to be considered by specific MSU faculty. Applications from all areas of mathematical research will be considered. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2020 and will continue until filled. A background check is required for employment.
