Department of Mathematics & Statistics at McMaster University invites
applications for a teaching-track faculty position in Statistics at the level
of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1,
2022. This position is an opportunity for individuals who are prepared to
devote themselves primarily to teaching within an academic environment and can
lead to permanence. The
successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related
area, and a demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate
level. The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities such as
curriculum development and evaluation, mentoring, and research into the
efficacy of pedagogical approaches. The
Department of Mathematics and Statistics currently has 38.5 full-time faculty
members and a rolling average of approximately 100 graduate students and 15
postdoctoral fellows. In addition to over 1,200 students enrolled in its
undergraduate programs, the Department offers undergraduate courses attended by
