Mathematics and Physics, North Carolina Central University

North Carolina Central University (NCCU), a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina (UNC) System, is a Historically Black institution (HBCU). The Department of Mathematics and Physics is in the College of Arts and Sciences which is housed in the Mary Townes Science Complex (MTSC), a 126,000 square foot research and teaching facility containing 45 teaching and computer laboratories and a range of classrooms sized from 35 to 140 seats. It is supported by state-of-the-art audio-visual Information Technology Systems for electronic delivery of instruction. The Department offers academic programs leading to the award of the B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, B.S. in Computer Science, and M.S. in Computer Information Sciences. There are currently thirteen tenured/tenure track and eleven non-tenure track faculty members in mathematics.
