The Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University seeks applications from highly qualified individuals for multiple junior tenure-track faculty positions in Applied Mathematics, to begin Fall 2021.  

Appointments to more senior positions may also be considered. The Department has identified several areas of need that are compatible with the research interests of its current faculty and include, among others: 

● theory of partial differential equations 
● numerical analysis of partial differential equations
● theoretical and applied harmonic analysis
● approximation theory and sparse approximation
● applied probability theory and algorithms
● inverse problems 
● theoretical, computational, and stochastic optimization
● scientific and high-performance computing.

Candidates must have a PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related area; post-doctoral experience; strong research record; and commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
