Nagoya University, Graduate School of Mathematics

Nagoya University is a comprehensive national research-intensive university located in between Tokyo and Kyoto where many of the top manufacturing companies have their operations. With approx. 16,000 students (1,600 international), our faculty have won internationally acclaimed awards including the Fields Medal, King Faisal International Prize and the Nobel Prize, with four of our six Nobel Laureates alumni of the university. Currently, Nagoya University is ranked 103 (QS World University Ranking), 101–150 (Academic Ranking of World Universities) and 226–250 (The World University Rankings) in the world. Starting October, 2011, Nagoya University has offered select programs taught in English. The city of Nagoya is the fourth largest city in Japan with the access of a large metropolis combined with a small town atmosphere, making it an affordable and comfortable place to live.
