Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

We are seeking to make Lecturer and Senior Lecturer appointments in Statistics and Machine Learning (two posts). You will have research interests in the development of methodology in at least one of: machine learning; uncertainty quantification for mathematical models; Bayesian statistics, and have interests in applications with an interdisciplinary focus. You should be committed to delivering high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will be required to supervise MSc dissertations in statistics.

We currently have ten statisticians working in areas including: the development and application of statistical methods for archaeology, ecology, environmental science, genetic epidemiology, geology and materials science; expert knowledge elicitation; image analysis; time series analysis; uncertainty quantification for mathematical models; mathematical foundations of statistical learning theory. We are very active in interdisciplinary research and collaborate widely with other disciplines, both within and outside the University, including joint supervision of PhD students. There is a strong research ethos and an international reputation in1) research. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), 89% of our submission was judged to be either internationally excellent or world leading.

You will have A PhD in a relevant area and expertise in at least one of: machine learning; uncertainty quantification for mathematical models; Bayesian statistics.
