The Department of Statistics at The University of Chicago invites applications for a Senior Instructional Professor rank position to assist with the Computational and Applied Mathematics (CAM) undergraduate major program. The selected candidate will be appointed as Assistant Senior Instructional Professor, Associate Senior Instructional Professor, or Senior Instructional Professor, with rank determined by qualifications. The appointment will be for a term of up to five years, renewable. This is a career-track position with competitive salary and benefits. In addition to teaching courses within the major, position responsibilities will include serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Computational and Applied Mathematics major, and leading, in consultation with a faculty committee, the design, development, implementation, and academic administration of the undergraduate curriculum in CAM. Other duties include meeting with students to advise them on course sequences, course selection, and prerequisites, providing academic and career advice to students, and supervising teaching personnel. All University departments and institutes are charged with building a faculty from a diversity of backgrounds and with diverse viewpoints; with cultivating an inclusive community that values freedom of expression; and with welcoming and supporting all their members.
