Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics is seeking applicants to fill a position at the assistant professor level, beginning August 1, 2018. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics with a strong mathematical background from an accredited institution by the start date. The preferred areas of research are multivariate analysis, biostatistics, environmental statistics, and data mining but those working in other areas of statistics are strongly encouraged to apply as well. The candidate should have evidence of high quality teaching, as seen in the letters of recommendation, and quality research commensurate with years of experience. Our current course offerings in statistics at the undergraduate level include applied and mathematical statistics. At the graduate level, we offer courses in experimental design, linear, nonlinear and generalized linear models, environmental and mathematical statistics. Preference will be given to candidates who can complement the research activities of current faculty, or who meet the teaching needs of the department.
