| The Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona invites applications for the Dr. Roy F. Graesser Chair in Mathematics. This is a tenured, full professor position beginning in the Fall of 2010.
Responsibilities will include: teaching a broad range of mathematics content and pedagogy courses, including courses for prospective and experienced teachers of mathematics (K-12); advising undergraduate students in mathematics, including students in secondary mathematics education; advising, teaching, and supervising mathematics graduate students pursuing Masters or Ph.D. degrees with concentration in mathematics or mathematics education; carrying out research and other scholarly activity in mathematics or mathematics education; providing service to the department, the university, and the community; and participating in state, national and international professional organizations. Candidates are required to have a PhD in mathematics with a strong background in education, or a PhD in mathematics education (or closely related field) with a strong background in mathematics, including the equivalent of a Masters’ degree in mathematics. Applicants should have an excellent record of scholarship in either mathematics or mathematics education and a strong and demonstrated commitment to teaching and outreach.
