The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for at least one tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Statistics. Applications on the associate or full professor levels may also be considered. The start date of the position is July 1, 2023. We offer an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of 2.5 courses per year. The successful candidate will establish their own research program, supervise graduate students, and teach Statistics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Statistics (or equivalent), demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research in any area of Statistical Sciences, as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Candidates with a focus on methodology, from theoretical underpinnings through computational challenges to innovative applications, are particularly encouraged to apply.
