The Graduate School at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks applicants for the non-tenure-track position of Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor, to begin fall 2024. This faculty member will be rostered in the Department of Applied Mathematics (APPM) and teach primarily in the MS in Data Science (MSDS). The successful applicant will be fluent in applied mathematics and statistics for data science, including proficiency in R or Python programming language; and will be prepared to teach data science courses including statistical methods, regression, and statistical learning. Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified to teach a wide range of applied mathematics and statistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including large lower-division classes (between 90-150 students). The ideal candidate will assist in the development of data science degree programs. Additional responsibilities may include application reviews, coordinating multi-section courses, supervising teaching assistants, serving on departmental committees, supporting growth in the university’s data science degree offerings, and advising data science students. This faculty member will report to the Chair of APPM and will work in close collaboration with the Faculty Director of the MSDS. Teaching-track faculty compose the core full-time teaching faculty team in APPM and the MSDS and play a fundamental role in the educational and service missions of the university.
