Department of Mathematics Irvine, CA 92697-3875 The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine invites applications to fill newly endowed chairs—the UCI Excellence in Teaching Endowed Chair in Mathematics. These chaired positions are made possible through a gift from the California Community Foundation and provide an annual discretionary research fund to the successful candidates. The successful candidates, who are expected to be at the associate-professor or full-professor level, will be excellent research mathematicians, with national and international recognition for scholarship, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and strong commitment to service.
