A postdoctoral researcher opening is available in the area of Mathematical Biology and/or Biophysics at the University of California, Irvine, working with Assistant Professor Christopher Miles. The postdoctoral fellow will be affiliated with the Mathematics department (http://www.math.uci.edu/) and the NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research (http://cellfate.uci.edu/). The postdoctoral fellow will work on mathematical modeling and data analysis in topics of stochastic spatial organization at the cellular and molecular scale, primarily in direct collaboration with experimental scientists in an interdisciplinary research environment. Possible projects include single-particle trajectory analysis of DNA and RNA movement within cells and developing data science tools for studying collective motion data. The position is renewable up to three years based upon availability of funding and performance of the postdoctoral scholar. The review process is ongoing and will continue until positions are filled.
