Visiting Assistant Professor Positions University of California, Riverside Department of Mathematics Applications are invited for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor positions for the academic year 2022-2023 (the number of positions is contingent upon available funding). The positions are open to applicants from all research areas in Mathematics. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics is required by the starting date of the appointment in Fall 2022. The candidates must possess demonstrated competence in research and teaching. Preference is given to candidates with strong research synergy with existing programs. The teaching load is two courses per quarter, for a total of six quarterly courses per year. Each quarter is approximately 11 weeks. In addition to teaching, the applicants will be responsible for attending advanced seminars and working on research projects. This is initially a one-year appointment and is renewable for up to a third year term. If a decision for reappointment is made, it will be based on an assessment of the candidate’s demonstrated competence in research, teaching and other assigned duties that may include University and community service.
