The Department of Mathematics, within the Division of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (http://www.math.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invites applications for our Stefan E. Warschawski Visiting Assistant Professorships. This is a broad search that is open to applicants from all areas of pure and applied mathematics and statistics. Positions are subject to availability of funding. These positions are three-year nonrenewable appointments. 

Candidates must have a recent PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field, or scheduled to complete such PhD prior to Fall quarter 2022. Candidates must have a demonstrated potential for a recognized program of excellence in both teaching and research. Successful candidates should have a well-articulated plan of contributing to programs that increase the access and success of underrepresented students and faculty in the sciences. We especially welcome candidates who have already participated in, contributed to, or created such programs, and who have a commitment to helping shape and expand the University’s diversity initiatives (http://diversity.ucsd.edu). 

Teaching in Mathematics, and related topics, will be expected. Ideally, the candidate will have skills and interest in teaching lecture courses at undergraduate upper and lower division levels.
