DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

 

The University of South Alabama Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for three non-tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor positions starting August 15, 2016. Two of these positions are in mathematics, and one is in statistics.  

The Instructor/Assistant Professor positions are renewable each year subject to annual review and evaluation and the needs of the University. The teaching load is 4 and 4 courses during Fall and Spring semesters respectively. Additionally, the responsibilities will involve advising, course development, committee service, and other teaching related activities.   

Applicants for the positions must have at least a Masters degree, with a doctorate preferred, in mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching and teaching related activities. Applications should be submitted online at www.mathjobs.org and should include a cover letter, vita, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation, and copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Review of applications will begin on January 19, 2016, and continue until the position is filled. We cannot accept applications submitted directly to department faculty.
