The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo invites applications for five definite-term lecturer positions:

 • One appointment with an initial term of three years (renewable);

 • One joint appointment with the Mathematical Business group in the Faculty of Mathematics with an initial term of three years (renewable); 

• Three appointments with an initial term of 2 years (renewable at most once). 

All appointments have an expected start date of January 1, 2022, but other start dates will be considered. 

Candidates must possess a graduate degree, ideally a PhD, in an area of Statistics, Biostatistics or Actuarial Science. Expertise in computational statistics or Data Science would be a distinct asset. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to undergraduate education, and ideally at least one year of teaching experience in statistics or actuarial science. Duties will include teaching six courses per year and service/administrative work within the University.

The salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
