YALE UNIVERSITY J. WILLARD GIBBS ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIPS IN MATHEMATICS 2018-19 ___________________________________________________________ The Gibbs Assistant Professorships are intended primarily for men and women who received the Ph.D. degree and show definite promise in research in pure or applied mathematics. Appointments are for three years. The salary will be at least $80,000. Each recipient of a Gibbs Assistant Professorship will be given a moving allowance based on the distance to be moved. The teaching load for Gibbs Assistant Professors will be kept light, so as to allow ample time for research. This will consist of three one-semester courses per year.
