Position Description:    

A postdoctoral fellowship in "Geometric Data Analysis within and across Data Modalities" is available for US citizens or permanent residents. Starting July 1, 2017 or later, if necessary. Renewable for up to two years.

Seeking candidates with research interests at the intersection of topological and geometric data analysis, statistics, and probability. Especially interested in candidates with interest and experience with a diverse array of data modalities, including but not limited to: musical audio, video, radar, and sonar. Candidates with background in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering with interests in developing theory, models, algorithms, and implementations for analysis of complex data at scale are encouraged to apply.

The position is available through the Department of Mathematics, to work with Professors John Harer and Paul Bendich. The candidate will be hired as part of a program funded by the NSF Research Training Grant "Structure in Complex Data," which establishes an extensive program of research and education in the mathematics and statistics needed to analyse modern data. Teaching expectation is one course per semester.
