The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at Lewis University seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. This position will begin August 2018.

Located 25 miles southwest of Chicago, Lewis University is a Catholic university in the Lasallian tradition offering distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to a growing and diverse student population. Primary Responsibilities: • Teach 24 semester hours per year, a variety of courses for majors and non-majors and work on other degree opportunities, possibly including our Master of Data Science Program and a potential program in Actuarial Science. • Service to the department and university • Student advising • Professional development

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in pure or applied mathematics or statistics. All areas of specialization will be considered, although special consideration will be given to candidates with a background in applied mathematics, statistics or data science. The appointee will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of formats including traditional, online, and blended classes. Skillful and enthusiastic teacher who is strongly committed to interactive, student-centered teaching of undergraduate mathematics in a liberal arts setting and who is willing to work with them not only in the classroom but out of it, including on research projects and math-related extracurricular activities.
