The Mathematics Department at Shippensburg University is looking to expand their offerings in statistics, actuarial science and data science. One tenure-track position at the assistant professor level is available. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience in statistics, actuarial science or data science. A Ph.D. in the mathematical/statistical sciences (by the time of employment), effective communication skills, and a commitment to teaching excellence are required. A doctorate from an accredited institution is required for tenure. In addition, faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. As part of a successful on-campus interview process, candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration of teaching effectiveness and evidence of understanding diverse populations. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience in statistics, actuarial science or data science.
