The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Lebanon Valley College invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 2018 at the assistant professor level. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field at that time. Responsibilities include teaching four 3-credit courses per semester, continuing scholarly activity (broadly defined), and general participation in the activities of the department and the College.

Our department has a history and culture of math faculty developing new expertise on the job; this has allowed us to build strong undergraduate programs in several areas. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach an introductory programming class as part of their teaching load and have interest in developing skill in computer or data science.

With more than 170 majors and eight full-time faculty, we are one of the largest departments on campus, with successful programs in mathematics, actuarial science, analytical finance, and computer & data science. We play a significant role in support of general education and work closely with our students outside the classroom. Our faculty occupy positions of leadership among the College faculty. We seek candidates who are flexible, intellectually omnivorous, and eager to join us in these varied roles.
