Position Description:    

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in algebra at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, starting in August, 2018. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in mathematics with a specialty in an established area of algebra, demonstrated potential for obtaining external funding, and demonstrated ability to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability, interest and commitment to engage in interdisciplinary research, and with demonstrated commitment to teaching and engaging students with a diverse background.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a doctoral, research intensive university located in one of the nation’s fastest growing metropolitan areas on an expanding, modern campus. Faculty research interests include such fields as algebra, analysis, computational mathematics, differential equations, mathematical finance, inverse problems, mathematical physics, topology, statistics, and biostatistics.
