The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a post-doctoral research fellow in Statistics/Biostatistics to begin in Spring 2018. Qualifications include a doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field, demonstrated proficiency in R, and a commitment to scholarship. The post-doc will join a collaborative team of investigators to work on statistical methods for the genomics of cardiometabolic disease. Under the direct supervision of Dr. Foulkes, the post-doc will: (1) develop and implement new statistical methodologies; (2) assist in the writing and presentation of manuscripts demonstrating the new methodologies and their applications; (3) write R code and associated documentation for submission to CRAN; (4) attend weekly lab meetings; and (5) support the supervision of advanced undergraduates in research projects. Additional opportunities for undergraduate-level teaching are available but not required. Mount Holyoke is an undergraduate liberal arts college for women with 2,200 students and 220 faculty. Over half of the faculty are women and one-fourth are persons of color. Mount Holyoke is located about 80 miles west of Boston in the Connecticut River valley, and is a member of the Five College Consortium consisting of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts.
